BBSHD ASI BAC800 With a few problems.

Issue #103 invalid
meow boxie created an issue

Hi, I’m currently running the BBSHD with the BAC800 and Eggrider V2 with a 72v battery and I have a few problems so far.

1: PAS doesn’t work unless I pedal backwards.

2: Speed doesn’t show correct speed no matter what i change my wheel circumference to the speed seems to stay.

3: the settings under ASI Settings in the app don’t appear to have any control at all no matter what I change them to or which profile I use (Road/Offroad)

And this isn’t really an issue but do you plan on making support for 72v batteries to show the correct data? I’d love to be able to log my battery usage but there's no option for it.

Thanks.

    hi Travis.
1: PAS doesn’t work unless I pedal backwards. - this could be down to the wiring. I know bafang pas has two output wires, and I’ve been lucky, for me it worked with the first wire I have tried, but I can’t exclude some configuration issue

2: Speed doesn’t show correct speed no matter what i change my wheel circumference to the speed seems to stay. - I have tied the wheel circumference setting to a speed reading in recent firmware version. Using the latest firmware should create a reliable configuration

3: the settings under ASI Settings in the app don’t appear to have any control at all no matter what I change them to or which profile I use (Road/Offroad) - I’m, not aware of this issue. I do however noticed that if ASI is in speed mode it will ignore any power settings, and in torque mode it will ignore any speed settings. I keep it in torque mode because speed lim is not important for me at this point

And this isn’t really an issue but do you plan on making support for 72v batteries to show the correct data? I’d love to be able to log my battery usage but there's no option for it. We added support for higher voltages in the latest versions, but we need to check when both app and firmware can support it

Hi guys, just to let you know. The new ASI BAC800 controller seems to be working well with the EggRider display and app, all that worry for nothing!!!
I’m not sure how the controller is mapped, so far I’ve had to work it out for myself. Perhaps I’m stupid. Some things are counterintuitive, so if you expect this controller to be as programmable and intuitive as EggRider display/app with the Bafang controller DONT. After working with the BAC800 controller I found it to be awesome and able to open and expand over and above the somewhat limited Bafang controller. If you are up to the challenge and want more from that robust BBSHD motor then I reckon give it a go.

I was premature in expressing my glowing review of the BAC800 controller. Using the EggRider App and display the PAS in road or off road doesn’t scale but starts at 250W and can’t be decreased. Power settings on the throttle side do not change the controller parameters although read write inputs for both on/off-road hold in the app but revert back to initial values and have no effect on PAS for road Or off-road mode in the BAC800 controller Speed read outs are not reliable either. Seems like I’ve bought a locked controller.
