Automatically populate Epic link in story when story is created

Do you know if there is any way to automatically populate the epic link field in a story with the related epic using a post function?

Hi @Scottfedm,

Field Epic Link of a Story or any other issue type (except Epic) can be set by writing into it the Epic name, or the Issue key of an Epic issue.

To set that field you can use any of the following post-functions:

• Copy a parsed text to a field
• Set a field as a function of other fields
• Write field on linked issues or subtasks
• Read fields from linked issues or subtask
• Write field on issues returned by JQL Query or Issue List
• Read field from issues returned by JQL Query or Issue List

I'm not sure what you mean by "related epic". Can you, please, describe with some detail how can you know which is related epic?
