Layer CRS not considered when switching layers between Map Views

Data Sources → add layer to an existing empty Map View → Map View CRS will be set to layer CRS

Data Views → drag layer from Map View into a different existing empty View → Map Views CRS will not be set to layer CRS (CRS unspecified)

Is this behaviour intended?
