Introduction

Timestamps on IEEG.org are stored in uUTC time, which is the number of microsecond that have elapsed since Jan 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC. For de-identified data, we preserve the time information, but set the date of the first sample of the dataset to Jan 1st, 2000. (or 946702800000 + timeOffset in uUTC).

The timeOffset is always calculated such that the local time is reflected in the UTC timestamp and no time-zone information is preserved.

Annotations

Annotation times are always relative to the start of the timeseries and not absolute. (I think we need to change this)
