LaunchBox forces default logo for any playlist that has a genre name (and you can't remove it)

Issue #7404 new
Matt Rogers created an issue

If you name a playlist something that matches a common genre, like “Role Playing” or “Strategy”, LaunchBox will force a clear logo upon you. When you edit the playlist and remove the logo, it always comes back.

It doesn’t force any logo on you for playlists that don’t happen to match a genre name, like “Kid Favorites.” That will remain plain text with no attached logo.

This behavior is not intuitive (where did this logo come from??) and is in direct opposition to the UI (I delete an image from a playlist but it doesn’t stay deleted). The desire is to have Launchbox either:

  1. Don’t auto-populate a logo on the playlist at all (preferable)
  2. If it must auto-populate a logo on playlist creation, it should at least respect/preserve the fact that I removed it.

The logo being forced on me is being shown in both LaunchBox and BigBox. The result is that some playlists show their title with a default font, and some playlists show with these logos, and it looks terrible because it’s inconsistent. Having the ability to set logos for playlists is great, but personally I don’t want to use logos because having everything in a consistent plain font (without graphics) is more “scannable”, and I should have the ability to do that.

Related to #5812 but that solution doesn’t really address this because it’s still happening.

LaunchBox 13.0 on Windows 10.
