ETMS Note Macro
Description
This macro is used to create a call out, much like the Confluence tip or note macros, to identify which of the four extensions of the Enterprise Test Management System (ETMS) the information applies to.
Usage
To use the macro, insert the macro using the normal Confluence methods and adjust the parameters as necessary.
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
Title | A title for the note. |
Applies to FSE | If checked, the icon for the Field Service Extensions will be inserted. |
Applies to IGE | If checked, the icon for the Instrument Group Extensions will be inserted. |
Applies to MMA | If checked, the icon for the Microwave and Modular Accessories Extensions will be inserted. |
Applies to TCE | If checked, the icon for the Technology Center Extensions will be inserted. |
Purpose
Often, information about the test environment is appropriate for one facet, but not another. This macro made it easier and more consistent to specify which environment the documentation is relevant to.
Sharedoc Link Macro
Description
Sharedoc is a customized interface to Microsoft Sharepoint developed and used by Keysight Technologies internally. This macro is used to create a link to the content, the page containing the content and optionally the automatically generated pdf.
Usage
To use the macro, insert the macro using the normal Confluence methods and adjust the parameters as necessary.
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
URL or Filename | The url or filename of the document to link to |
Base URL | A prefix to append to the Url or Filename provided the value for URL or Filename does not start with http. |
Include PDF Link | If checked, a link to the automatically generated pdf will be created. |
Purpose
The primary difficulty with creating links to documents managed in Sharedoc is the download url downloads the file, but does not allow you to edit it. The link to the containing folder allows you to check out the file to be edited, but does not give you any guidance to which of the files in the folder you are looking for. This macro was developed so authors could create a single link and have both the link to the document to view it and a link to the page if they want the check it out and edit it.
Sharedoc Linkbank Macro
Description
Sharedoc is a customized interface to Microsoft Sharepoint developed and used by Keysight Technologies internally. This macro is used to create a list of links to the content, the page containing the content and optionally the automatically generated pdf.
Usage
To use the macro, insert the macro using the normal Confluence methods and adjust the parameters as necessary. The links are generated from the body of the macro. Every line in the body represents a file that should be linked to. The format for each line is either just the name of the document or use the syntax [<filename>|<description>]. for example:
[MyFile.pptx|My Awesome File] [MyFile2.pptx|Customer Presentation] SalesTargets.xls
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
Base URL | A prefix to append to the Url or Filename provided the value for URL or Filename does not start with http. |
Include PDF Link | If checked, a link to the automatically generated pdf will be created. |
Purpose
The primary difficulty with creating links to documents managed in Sharedoc is the download url downloads the file, but does not allow you to edit it. The link to the containing folder allows you to check out the file to be edited, but does not give you any guidance to which of the files in the folder you are looking for. This macro was developed so authors could quickly create a list of links to files in the same Sharedoc folder and have both the link to the document to view it and a link to the page if they want the check it out and edit it.
Test Ecosystem Nabvar Macro
Description
This macro inserts a navigation bar using AUI buttons to some of the primary spaces in Keysight's instance of Confluence.
Usage
To use the macro, insert the macro using the normal Confluence methods. There are no parameters to adjust.
Purpose
This was developed to create a navigation bar that could be centrally maintained and updated.
Meeting Notes Page Blueprint
Description
This is a replacement for the Atlassian Meeting Notes blueprint. The blueprint differs from the default Confluence Meeting Notes blueprint in two ways. The Meeting Notes template is different. The blueprint will enforce a rule that all meeting notes must be a descendant of the meeting notes index page.
Usage
Click on the "..." icon next to the Create button in the Confluence navigation bar. Select the Meeting Notes with the Test Ecosystem icon.
Purpose
This was developed to provide a meeting notes template that fit our preference better and to make sure that all meeting note pages were collected in one place rather than be scattered around the space.
Tutorial Page Blueprint
Description
This is a standard page blueprint, much like the Atlassian Meeting Notes, except that the template is appropriate for containing tutorials rather than meeting minutes.
Usage
Click on the "..." icon next to the Create button in the Confluence navigation bar. Select the Tutorials item with the Test Ecosystem icon.
Purpose
This was developed to provide a consistent way of deploying tutorials across Confluence.
Test Ecosystem Space Blueprint
Description
This is a blueprint to create a space and setup the permissions according to the standard for all Test Ecosystem spaces. This blueprint is deprecated by the Keysight Space Blueprint in the Keysight Theme plugin.
Usage
Click on Create Space in the Spaces menu of the Confluence navigation bar. Select the Test Ecosystem Space, enter the parameters as requested and press Create
Purpose
This was developed to simplify the process for creating a space with the standard Test Ecosystem permissions.
