TreeViews: bitbucket version does not work

I tried setting the TreeViews code for myself on Tool Labs, so that I could start working on scratching my itch for pulling view data for an arbitrary list of articles. It looks like the code is a little different from the version running at http://tools.wmflabs.org/glamtools/treeviews/
The source version has the big red warning about lack of adequate, and on my tool account, it doesn't pull view data at all, even slowly (although the category scanning works): http://tools.wmflabs.org/coursestats/treeviews/

You can copy the latest code from /data/project/glamtools/public_html/treeviews on tools. If you tried the same code, I think the issue is https://bitbucket.org/magnusmanske/glamtools/issue/27/unknown-database-s51203__viewstats_cache

Maybe you were unlucky and the IP was blocked by stats.grok.se at that point in time? Or your category was too big.
