Flickering on alternating frames in transitions

Issue #18 closed
pyroshroom created an issue

I was trying to render out this transition: http://v2d7c.sheepserver.net/cgi/node.cgi?id=27355&detail=view in Fractorium 1.0.0.9.

There is a flickering of colors that happens on alternating frames (FractoriumOutput.webm), it happens at lower frame rates and higher frame rates too. It shows up in both CPU and OpenCL rendering. My render settings are in "Fractorium Settings.PNG". I have also attached a few frames (106.png-109.png) that shows the flickering.

In addition, the transition I rendered (FractoriumOutput.webm) also has excessive rotation compared to the original (00247=27355=27204=27198.avi).

The flickering seems to be the same issue as: https://bitbucket.org/mfeemster/fractorium/issues/9/jumpy-shapes-when-animating-certain-flames

And the excessive rotation during the blend seems to be similar to this issue: https://bitbucket.org/mfeemster/fractorium/issues/7/gui-doesnt-normalize-rotation-values-when

Are there any old versions of the program I can try out to see if the same issue happens there?

Hmm, interesting, so if I load the flames from the .flame file that was saved, the excessive rotation during the transition goes away, but the flickering is still present.

However, copying the two XML flames from the original .flam3 file still results in the excessive rotation during the transition. (Copied and pasted into Fractorium since it doesn't open the edge .flam3 with the two flames automatically)

I have attached the original .flam3 file and the new output video (FractoriumOutput2.webm) I have now. (Only changed the render settings to have 100 temporal samples compared to before)
