CO2 vs H2O
Plants take in CO2 through it's leaves. H2O through it's roots. Plants produce sugar which is C6H12O6 It needs 6 molecules of CO2 to get the C6 and also gets 12 molecules of O. So now it needs 12 molecules of H so it takes in 6 molecules of water (6xH2O) it is also getting 6 more O molecules. So now we have C6H12O12 They only need C6H12O6 and now have 6 too many molecules of O so during photosynthesis they release them into the air as waste and that is what we breath. All these are sent to the chloroplast in the leaves and the energy from sunlight to convert to sugar (glucose). This is only a lay mans term of how it's done to understand a little better. The plant also needs fertilizer Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potash for food to feed all those sugar makers. Source
TL;DR: 6xH2O + 6xCO2 + light --> C6H12O6 + 6xO2
Water + CarbonDioxyde = glucose + dioxygen
