repo owner You already can collapse main panel using horizontal splitter. Isn't that enough?
-
reporter It would be sufficient if it works consistentlyand is somehow documented. At the moment I got semi-random results. Sometimes the main panel is hidden completely (does this depend on the speed of the mouse movement?), sometimes it is just moved. When hidden, it is not clear how to restore.

repo owner I believe this is a standard GUI feature in most OS.
What doesn't work and in which OS? There is a certain (minimal) width at which the resizing stops (to avoid accidental resizing to 0) buf it you continue resizing, it will finally collapse. This minimal size stop can probably be disabled.
Restoring collapsed view requires grabbing the handle between left and right panel - it should be visible in each OS, although I don't remember how it looks in Windows/Linux.

reporter Debian stretch, Gnome 3. It works but incosistently. Is there some official documentation? Some time next week I can demonstrate the problem with Skype screen sharing.

Allow hiding main document. Closes
#292To prevent user confusion, this has no shortcut and it is not remembered between sessions.
