XLIFF Creation Fails in Word Doc with SmartArt Graphic
Original issue 251 created by will.hel... on 2012-07-04T14:10:21.000Z:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Attempt to create XLIFF file either using Tikal or Rainbow with an MS Word 2008 document containing a Microsoft Word SmartArt image.
2. XLIFF file is created, but when trying to merge file later to produce .out.docx file, the file is corrupt. Will not open stating error 2.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect out.docx file should open and display a perfectly formed translation of the original .docx text. Instead, a corrupt file is created that cannot be opened.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Okapi Framework - Apr-16-2012 on Max OSX 10.7.3
Please provide any additional information below.
A viable workaround that seems to fix the issue is to remove the SmartArt graphics, convert them to another format (e.g. jpeg, png) and re-insert in source file. Convert to XLIF as usual, translate and export. Works fine.
