Album app error

Issue #880 wontfix
mzeid created an issue

Hi@YvesS ,

I hope all is well with you.

Do we have an equivalent to Album app in the Java release?

I installed the older version of Okapi on a Windows 10, 64 Bit, but I am getting this error when I ran it (Screenshot).

Maybe, the app was designed to run on Windows 32 bit, not sure? Is there a way to fix it?

I came across this http://okapi.sourceforge.net/Release/Album/Help/mttrans.htm and I am wondering if I can use this functionality to get translations from an MT connector while translating? Am I getting it right?

If my assumption is right, can you please let me know how can I use the app or if we have something similar in the new port?

Thanks

Probably some issue with the Registry. But I have no idea what would cause this. It’s a very old compiled version.

Yes. The idea was to copy the source text, trigger the MT, get back the translation and copy it back in place. It worked fine.
but the MT connectors are likely very outdated now.

Thank you Chase and Yves for your replies. I have tested it on 2 machines with Windows 10, and it failed.

I have a custom MT engine, but I don’t have a Trados plugin for it. Using the clipboard functionality in Album to retrieve translation from the engine and paste it in Trados would be a life-time saver.

Thanks again for your support and for providing such amazing tools.
