MLVA and loci relative weight

Issue #17 on hold

Hello,

I have been using Phyloviz for phylogenetic tree building for Brucella genotyped with MLVA technique.

This technique involves giving more relative weight to certain loci (the ones for which a difference in copy number means a further genetic relativeness than the other loci with a lower relative weight). I cannot find that option in Phyloviz. So far, I have fixed this by creating multiple copies of the same columns in the dataset to provide more weight to the corresponding loci.

For instance, for a locus with a relative weight of 10, I would create 10 copies of the same column and integrate them in the dataset.

Would it be feasible to provide that option directly in the software?

Thank you very much

Cheers,

Louis

It implies implementing a new version of net-phyloviz-mlva. Could we assume that weights are provided in the input file? For instance, in the line below headers?

After that, either this new implementation of net-phyloviz-mlva simulates multiple columns or we need to provide new distance implementations...

    Thank you for your answer.

Either that or a menu giving the option to enter a weight for each column within the dataset?
