Some FreeBSD tests fail on encoding issues

It's not the encoding issues – although the report has a nasty encoding problem. The problem is that we shipped a bad TeX::Hyphen::Pattern, and when the test is done using that bad version of the dependency it breaks. Could have happened on any platform that doesn't try to install the latest versions of a dependency.

On our VirtualBox from osboxes it installs just fine. So what is configured to make it break?
