Resurfacing concrete driveways

In the course of this article, we will be highlighting four crucial steps that are important to make sure that you can Do concrete driveway Resurfacing.

Step one

The first type happens to be a very basic step. And here you need to clean your driveway of all the external dust particles or any other not required particles. This can include the formation of dust, the chips of the concrete that have broken away from the driveway, or any other material.

In order to understand why this is important, you must understand the entire resurfacing project itself. Unlike repairs or any other phenomenon, in resurfacing projects the older layer of the concrete driveway or the damaged layer is not removed but rather another layer is built upon it so that it can be given a propped up and better look.

You can clean the surface of the older driveway by using a pressure washing machine. It will be extremely beneficial because it can remove all the layers of oil, dirt, and flakes of concrete. However, make sure that you do not have a very high-intensity pressure washer because it will cause a lot of damage to the concrete.

Step 2

If you are undertaking this project yourself, it is advisable that you should buy a resurfacer mix that is available in the market. Making concrete on the side by yourself is a hard job that any untrained professional cannot undertake.

Creating a mix is not very hard and there are only two elements that are involved in the entire process. The reason you should not adhere to making concrete on the site is that it can get a lot messier and since you do not have the proper training you might end up having a concrete mix that has a lot of lumps in it.

Once you have procured the resurfacer mix, take a bucket of water and start adding slowly the mix that you have procured. Once all of the mixes have been added to the water try mixing it for as much time as it is required. Your goal is to achieve a consistent mix that does not have lumps in it.

If you find that the mix is extremely viscous, add more resurfacer into it or if you feel like the viscosity of the mix is very thick add more water to it.

Step 3

Now add the mix to the driveway especially to the areas where there's a lot of depression so that you get an even surface after you have done the job. Use a long-handled squeegee to spread the mix of concrete. Make sure that you undertake this process at a slightly cold temperature so that the concrete does not Harden too quickly.
