Wrong sums for different iterations in a time period

Issue #1172 resolved
Niklaus Hählen created an issue

Hi there We are using your great plugin since ca. 1 year and it really helps for invoicing our external team. On saturday we recognized that the amount of hours over the whole September is not the same like if we report it for each week and summarize the iterations.

Our case: 3 Developer * Whole September = 343.42 hrs (Screenshot 1) * Sum of iterations 1.-3. / 4.-10. / 11.-17. / 18.-24. / 25.-30. = 395.51 hrs (Screenshots 2 - 6)

We tessted also different iterations: * 1.-15. / 16.-30. = 395.42 hrs * 1.-24. / 25.-30. = 357.08 hrs

Strange.... Which data are correct? At least it's a show stopper, because we need to trust these data...

Added the csv file.

THx for any investigation and solution in advance... Niklaus

    Hi Niklaus,

Could you please try to collect support data, 3 times, to let me reproduce it locally?

    1) Whole Semptember 2) 1 - 15 3) 16 - 30

Enable Track Support Data option in add-on configuration, then reload report and click Download Support Zip button.

Send it to support@jiratimesheet.com. Note, you may need to change extension to something else to let it pass through. Or create private service request here

    Thank you.

We are experiencing the same problem. The totals for weekview are different from the monthview when using 'All Users'. A worked user has in last week of september: - 17.52h in weekview - 0h in monthview (more in other weeks) When adding the user to the filter the totals are correct, but when switching back to all users it's wrong again. We are in big problems now since we have to close the month so please fix this asap!

    Hi Marcel

seems you have similar but not the same issue, could you please try to collect support data, 2 times (user and no user), to let us reproduce it locally? Send it please to support@jiratimesheet.com

    Best regards.

  4. Andriy Zhdanov

    Hi Marcel,

It's more important if you send supportData.zip as requested. Separate issue is not required, though.

    Thank you.

  5. Andriy Zhdanov

    Hi Marcel,

Could you please try if running monthly report several times produces the same Total result all the time?

And also please clarify, whether you use Store Worklog option in add-on configuration?

    Thank you.

  6. Andriy Zhdanov

    Hi Marcel, Niklaus,

I seem have found a problem, and fixed it, could you please try if it works better?

    Thank you.

  7. Marcel van den Bos

Still the same for us I am afraid.

Could you please try once more? You may need to reload page without cache, e.g. with Ctrl+Shift+R

Still the same, without the 401

    Here still strange...

I did a few refreshs of the monthly report, just with F5 and CTRL+F5 and reloaded the report. Output check here, please: https://web.tresorit.com/l#SO8OmCaBnsAJ4nm3EDut6A

Excel-Sheet: Outputs and assigned Support Data. Please check: In the first case is the reported sum different from the calculated sum!

BTW: The output is far away from the expected result for Napora for example, he has worked ~160 hours - I guess he logged them, his salary depends on that...

    Thx for your support! Niklaus

    Hi Marcel,

Sorry, I forgot you're using Timesheet Reports and Gadgets, and fix was not applied there, until now. Could you please try again?

Note, I think Niklaus is using Time Reports, and both plugins are the same, beside some features, as described here

    Thank you.

  14. Marcel van den Bos

Ah ok, well still the same 😉

    Oh no!

Well, would you be able to provide supportData.zip?

You need to enable Track Support Data option in add-on configuration, then reload report and click Download Support Zip button.

    Thank you.

Hi there The issue seems to be solved in our case :)

Thx @ Andriy for his quick and competent support! Have a big beer and a nice evening.

    Best regards Niklaus

  17. Andriy Zhdanov

Could you please try switching off Store Worklog option in add-on configuration as workaround?

  18. Andriy Zhdanov

Sure, I will try to get it working too, but might be not that fast, too many troubles, sorry.

  19. Marcel van den Bos

And it would be good to think about ways to prevent these kind of problems. There are ways to automatically validate results after changes or you can make one. But perhaps you are aware of this 😉 Thanks again for the support.

    Hi Marcel

I have just noticed discrepancy in periods in your very first screenshoots (1-30 and 24-30) I have tried to check it on my jira instance and find out period changing on pressing month/week view button. But if i manually correct period, I have received same totals.

The same with 'Store Worklog' option.

Could you please doublecheck if manual period correction returns ptoper totals.

    Thank you.

  21. Marcel van den Bos

    No it does not
