Issues exporting to CSV/Excel after upgrade.

Issue #1218 resolved
Dwight Newton created an issue

Hello -

We recently upgraded our Jira instance from 6.4 to 7.13. We also upgraded to the latest compatible version of the TR&G add-on (paid version, 100-user license): 3.3.7 Build #1980.

Whenver we export to CSV, we get a 75-byte file with the following (regardless of report configuration):

Project,Type,Key,Title,Date,Username,Time Spent (h),Comment Total,,,,,,"0",

The Excel export (for the same report) does appear to work although Excel (version 16.16.7 for Mac, High Sierra) complains that the file is corrupt:

Alert The file format and extension of 'Timesheet Report.xls' don't match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe. Unless you trust its source, don't open it. Do you want to open it anyway?

Excel will go ahead and open the file and it has the correct data (unlike the CSV file).

Thanks in advance. Dwight

    Hi Dwight,

I can see the problem. It appears the CSV View link works only first time when you open report using Details link in corresponding Time Sheet dashboard gadget, or using Export to CSV in the gadget itself.

I've just fixed it for other cases for next update, but may be you can still use it as I've just described, as temporary workaround.

As for Excel export, yes, this is how it works, unfortunately, it's just HTML that Excel is able to convert to XLS then.

Please let me know if anything else.

    Thank you.

Thank you for the update, Andriy. I just updated the Timesheet Reports and gadget add-on (we are now running v3.3.8 build 2000) but CSV export still has the same issue. I will re-test when a new update becomes available. For now, we can work around using the Excel/HTML export feature. - Dwight
