Cannot Change Time Report Gadget Filter by User Option

In JIRA Core Cloud, when adding a new Time Report for gadget to a new dashboard, the gadget defaults the filter by User configuration option to the user adding the gadget. While you can change the User option via the gadget configuration screen, there is no apparent means to save the gadget configuration setting, resulting in the gadget reverting back to the original User configuration setting.     Hi James,

    I have just tried the same, and it seems to work fine. Do you mean that Save button is not shown for you when you do Edit for gadget, and gadget configuration is shown? Or Save button does nothing? Or after Save changes do not take into effect?

    Hi Andriy,

    I do not have a Save button shown when I am editing gadget settings (see attached screenshot). All I see is a Refresh and Configuration option. Just tried to change User using Chrome browser instead of Safari.. I do not see any Save button or option that I can use to Save the change to the User filter.

    Odd, since I did create 4 other filters a few months ago using this gadget.. am I missing something?

    Hi James,

    I see now, it's small misunderstanding. Instead of clicking More Options link, see dropdown in the top right corner of the gadget, and click Edit there, it should be the right way to configure gadget. The link you click opens the report for instant changing view options. Note, it's also possible to save desired view there, but it's not passed back to dashboard.

    Thanks.. for the life of me, I could not figure out how I managed to save User settings for the Gadget when I created gadgets for my other team members. I’ll be sure to document how to change and save configuration settings for myself and my team mates :-)

    Speaking of documentation, can the online documentation for the ‘JIRA Timesheets Report and Gadgets” be used as a guide for the “Time Reports for JIRA Cloud” Add-on? The documentation for the “Time Reports for JIRA Cloud” is pretty sparse.

    Well, I would say "JIRA Timesheets Report and Gadgets" documentation may mislead, as "Time Reports for JIRA Cloud" tends to be similar, but it's not the same, so it just needs better documentation. Hopefully it will be better soon.

    I’ll be documenting the JIRA Time Reports add-on for JIRA Core Cloud as I work with it-- be happy to share the content with you. If enough users share what they have learned and documented, maybe that will reduce documentation time, which is a pain for developers ;-)
