MDM Erase command cannot be sent

When selecting the Erase… command from the MDM menu a prompt is shown asking for a 6 digit pin. When entering a pin and clicking the Erase button there is no response.

Also the Erase dialog box title shows as Untitled.

MDM was confirmed to be working in this test by first enrolling the target machine and successfully sending a restart command.
