wfview integration for PTT

Issue #113 resolved
sasha.jpr created an issue

Hey,

I’m using wfview to connect to IC705 over wifi, passing audio is working fine with a loopback audio interface.

But PTT is not working.

There is an option in wfview to emulate Hamlib but on the network port, not the physical serial port.
https://wfview.org/wfview-user-manual/hamlib-rigctld-emulation/

Is there any way of getting a PTT working with this setup?
Or is there a way of getting a virtual serial port connected?

Thanks, Sasha, ZL1JX, 73

Try setting it up the same as the instructions for WSJT-X; choose “Hamlib NET rigctl” and enter host “127.0.0.1:5432”

Oh wow, I’ve missed that, thank you Weston!

Another interesting thing, I can see the audio devices on the old inter Mac Pro, but the list is empty on M1 MacBook. Checked the system permissions, also installed BlackHole to add another interface, but the dropdown still empty. What can that be?

Yes, you’re not the only one to report the missing audio devices on the M1 platform. See issue #112. It appears to be a problem that only exists on the M1 platform. I am trying to figure out how I am going to troubleshoot this, as all of my MacBooks are still Intel.

When you get a chance, can you test the latest version on your M1 and see if the audio devices are properly enumerated now? I made some changes in 0.6.3 that might affect this.

Amazing, thanks Wes, I can see the sound devices now, and the level meter is working. Will try hooking up to IC705 and actually check it works
