Calibration options for 1 camera

From SICB meeting, some people would like to use XMA lab for 2D tracking with one standard video camera. I think the only way to do that now is to use a checkerboard for calibration, because the calibration step is required. It would help some users to be able to skip calibration and get 2D points in pixel units. Others might like to simply measure a 2D object such as a ruler or any feature of known length in a calibration image or perhaps even an object in one frame of the video.
