Vertical Scroll in Image History panel

I find the horizontal scrolling with on rows confusing, especially the sequence order

I would rather prefer the vertical scroll as it more natural/conventional and would allow mouse scrolling.

Suggesting an option (icons?) on the panel to control display, such as multicollumn cells or a single column vertical list, where the icon is on the left and informations on th right.

The best example I have for that is Windows Explorer where you can view a folder content with icons, tiles or details.
