HFR shows different values when star detection and analysis is on vs off using OSC cameras

Issue #671 resolved
Bortle9 created an issue

Running 1.11#013

Description

Reported HFR has a large difference depending on if auto star detection is turned on or off in the Imaging->Image tab. When star detection is turned off HFR is reported as much higher than when it is turned on.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Be running a sequence with auto star detection off
  • Allow several images to be acquired
  • Turn auto star detection on
  • Allow several more images to be acquired

Expected behaviour

HFR report is similar if auto star detection is on or off (assuming no change in conditions)

Actual behaviour

Images acquired with star detection off report a much higher HFR

It’s possible that it only shows up when using a DSLR (Nikon?) camera. I tried to use the simulator or file cameras, but NINA says “Unsupported CFA/Bayer pattern: Monochrome” with either of them when loading my images to try and reproduce (Nightly #021). Also note that the file camera reports Sensor Type Monochrome in the Equipment->Camera tab even when Is Bayered is turned on in settings.

Does it still happen with the latest nightly? A couple of things have been reworked with the Image history

I recently got a dedicated astro camera instead of the Nikon that I was using at the time of reporting this. I cannot reproduce it using the new camera (ZWO ASI2600MM). Maybe this helps with isolating the issue.

Ok thank you for the update. That would narrow down things, as i wasn’t able to reproduce it anywhere (and i don’t own a nikon cam)
