a newly created SpectralView should only show the z-profile plot
Looks like this:
Should look like this:

reporter Also, instead of x axis showing “Wavelength [nm]”, just show the units “Nanometers”.
-
-
reporter I agree, it is trivial. But we should really implement it for the upcoming release.
-
reporter Also, the icon for showing the plot is not really appropriate. Looks more like an distribution, rather a profile plot:
-
reporter Just reuse this icon:

Visualization settings are now hidden by default. attribute will be shows, as it displays elementary information

reporter I do not really like having this big attribute table as a default, when just plotting raster Z-profiles. On a big monitor this might be ok, but on my Full HD notebook display it looks really oweful. And I also can’t get the table smaller, I have to hide it anyway:

Still don't get a nice z-profile.

reporter Can’t we have a full sized plot when the SpectralView is created by the first raster Z-Profile?
When created manually by clicking on the “Open a spectral library” button, we can have the attribute table, if you like.
-
In Team Meeting we decided to let the attribute table open to clearly show that there is metadata too.
Just showing profiles without additional context, aka Legend / names might be misleading.
One issue to improve is to optimize the horizontal splitter position, e.g. 2/3 for plot widget (now it is less than 1/3 for with) -

That is true. But is this oweful looking z-profile not changing your mind? What about my suggestion to differentiate between
i) creating a library by clicking the “Open a spectral library” button,
and ii) open a new library for plotting a z-profile.
I think those are two different usecases, and in the z-profile usecase, I want to see a nice z-profile right away.

reporter As discussed in bigger group:
-
when starting a fresh spectral view, by requesting a raster z-profile, it should initialize with full sized plot widget, and all the vector layer related buttons are hidden:
-
toggle vector layer related buttons visibility together with showing/hiding the attribute table
-
if possible, remove these buttons:
