Bring back Launchbox.XML
Bulk edits are usually performed over multiple platforms. With the xmls split up over platforms now, I have to go through all the affected games to bring them back up to what they were a year ago, unless there's another method I'm overlooking. I'd find it quite inefficient to navigate through each and every platform folder to make a copy of the XML when I make bulk changes.
Any suggestions?

Hi Bikeking8,
The XML files were split across different platforms to facilitate editing specific platforms, and increase the performance of the product. If you'd like to edit the files by hand, there are multiple ways to do so that would recurse through all the subfolders and edit them in any manner you choose. Sadly, without knowing what you're trying to do specifically, we can't really help you. Would you be able to tell us what it is you're trying to do? We'll see if we can't lend a hand :).

reporter Usually I use Bulk Edit Wizard, but with the other issues I'm running into I've reported (lack of or duplicate genres, bulk edit changes not saving) along with even a reinstall of 6.12 not fixing the saving problem, it's my only option until 7.0 comes out. How can I edit all the xml files at once, though? I have an xml editor but I figured I'd have to open the files one by one now.

Heya Bikeking,
The reason you are editing the metadata by hand is due to the fact that your instance of LaunchBox is not saving any change you make, yes? If that's the case, we should probably look into that instead. The good news is that it's probably going to be a permission issue or a settings issue, so we should be able to solve that.
Can you tell me where your launchbox installation folder is located on your hard drive?
Edit: In case you're interested in recursion, there's plenty of ways to do it (i.e. using batch commands, powershell, find-and-replace GUI apps, etc. Here's a place to start http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/50198/reformatting-a-large-number-of-xml-files - now, the chance of breaking something is pretty high when you're new to learning how to automate things. Take a backup of your files before :).)

reporter It's installed in C:\Users\GameRig\LaunchBox\LaunchBox.exe, the default location.

reporter I just tried changing the program to Run as Administrator under compatibility settings, still nothing saves when I change it. I also tried changing those games in "Genre" view and not my custom field's view, still won't save changes.
