Time Sheet Bugs? - OnDemand

Issue #361 resolved
Former user created an issue

Using Jira OnDemand and was experiencing issues when trying to change the details to display time reports by specific Project. When a project was selected the report would return no information.

Jira support then upgraded to the most recent version, which resulted in the Excel file export displaying blank values in the field that the data was Grouped By -- perhaps this is a different bug with the newest version? We rolled it back to the current version as we needed the data in the Grouped By field more than the ability to report by specific project. I've requested the specific versions from JIRA support and will follow up.

Hi again, the first issues (filtering by specific Project) appeared using version 2.3.15 on Jira OnDemand. Jira support then upgraded to 2.3.16, which appeared to resolve the issue with filtering by Project, but then when I tried to export to Excel the contained within the field I was Grouping By was blank (no values). I was able to get around this by simply adding the same field I was grouping by again under the Details>Change section. That same field when added as am Additional Field contained the data correctly. I figure your team may want to investigate the Group By Field lacking data when exported to Excel bug that appeared here. Thanks!

    Hi Jonathan,

Could you please clarify if some particular field is empty using Group By Field in excel, or any?

Also, regarding empty report for Project, the following notice from 2.3.15 release notes might be useful:

CAUTION: If project and group are specified in timesheet report or gadget configuration, plugin displays worked hours for project members only. And membership is determined by all project roles beside Users. Adding needed groups to Developers role should be sufficient, but you may want to elaborate project roles. Then you may use project roles without groups to get project timesheet.

Though the latter will not be needed in next version, as I've managed to simplify this case.

    Thank you.

In my instance the field is called Billing ID, it's a custom field -- single value pick list.

Regarding your explanation about adding groups to a specific Project Roles is helpful, makes sense, and I will give that a try. Thanks so much!

Adding the Group associated with the users I wished to report on to the particular project appears to have worked. Much appreciated!
