Configuring the IDE to Accept Substitute SSL Certificates
Some proxies or firewalls perform SSL certificate substitution. This will manifest as an invalid or unverified SSL certificate error. If you see this type of error, you can configure the base IDE to accept the substitute certificates.
NOTE: The licensing software doesn't support substitute certificates, so this will help with other aspects of the IDE only, such as access to Salesforce organizations.
For more information on server certificates, see JetBrains' Help.
To configure the IDE to accept substitute SSL certificates:
-
Select Settings (Windows) or Preferences (Mac) then Tools > Server Certificates.
-
Do one of the following:
-
Check Accept non-trusted certificates automatically.
—or—
-
Add the substitute certificate(s) to Accepted certificates by clicking the large plus sign + and selecting the certificate file.
-
If you also need to configure the base IDE to use a corporate proxy server, see the instructions here.
If you continue to experience issues after configuring the IDE for SSL certificates, you may need to configure the key store for the entire process as described here (under Resolution) and here (under Configuring JVM options).
If you are unable to successfully configure your workstation to communicate with the licensing servers, you can use Offline Activation to activate and deactivate your Illuminated Cloud license key. See Managing Your Illuminated Cloud License for instructions.
