Rainfall estimates are used as follows:
- Delivery of L1 PCP, and
- Input for estimating Interception at all levels.

The Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station data (CHIRPS) dataset is used to provide the L1 Precipitation data. The IMERG precipitation product is used to estimate Interception and to fill gaps in the CHIRPS dataset dataset.
