Precipitation (PCP) data component

Daily total precipitation (in mm) is provided using CHIRPS data, an existing external data source that combines satellite observations with global models and measurements at local stations.

The daily precipitation data has a resolution of approximately 5km (0.05°). It is delivered as a L1 data component but is also used as input to the E, T and I data components at level 2 and 3.

The data are checked for data gaps and these gaps are filled with the IMERG Precipitation dataset. The following dates are currently filled:
