Gadget timesheet works very slow

    Hi Maciej,

    Could you please clarify if you have big number of projects or groups or filters? May be you could try Exclude Groups/Projects options in Administration - Add-ons - Timesheet Configuration, just to see if it is really a cause.

    Tell me please, which parameters of the system is affected on plugin performance? Especially, loading speed of parameters when user clicks on Edit button.

    Hi Andriy, We are using this plugin for some years and not so long time ago the permofmance issue has been occurred. This issue is about the edit screen, not the report itself.

    So, when I add gadget to my dashboard, first of all I must specify parameters. To do that, I need to see the config screen and set up the gadget properly. Once I do this and confirm settings, the plugin should start building the report, so any index problems, excluded/included groups, projects and so on may affect performance only starting from this moment. But. I even can't open the config menu, and I can't set up the plugin - I only see a blank screen. Sometimes the gadget finally shows the configuration screen, and this may take several minutes (3-5-10 minutes or so). But sometimes the gadget does not show the config screen at all. May be due to some kind of timeout.

    Our JIRA instances are still growing, so I'd like to know - what is the critical thing for the plugin performance when I open the config screen? Does it depend on number of users/groups/issues/projects or anything else? Which entities do the most significat influence to the performance?

    This issue is actually critical for us, many users can't even set up a new gadget. Could you please help on this?

    Our JIRA version: 6.4.8

    Timesheet Plugin version: 2.9.7.6

    Hi Nikolay,

    May be you can open Developer Console in Browser and in Network tab see which requests is slow, when you open gadget configuration within Edit menu.

    This is javascript error from the Console tab, which however corresponds to my expectations that some rest request has failed. Could you please check Network tab instead and see if there is any rest request that has failed?

    So it's clear that plugin can't load filters to display in configuration. I will introduce Only Favorite Filters configuration option, to reduce number of filters shown so it could work better.

    Version 3.0.8 for JIRA 7 and 2.9.8 for JIRA 5-6 with the Favourite Filters option in Timesheet Configuration is released.
