Statistics on Sphere menu take way too long to appear

I count 5 seconds from first opening the menu to them being visible, if you go straight there. Nothing we can do to improve on that short on increasing the number of elements generated per frame, which would reduce your rendering framerate when the menu first starts up (especially undesirable in VR).

Sort menu pointers in memory by distance from player view every time a menu transition occurs, ensuring that the nearest menus are always generated first - resolves #316 and #319, re #208 and #256
